Cruise Ship Waste Disposal for Haulers Serving Port Canaveral
Cruise Ship Waste Disposal, Planned Before the Ship Docks
American Bioclean provides cruise ship waste disposal at our DEP-permitted facility at 495 S. SR 415 in New Smyrna Beach. Haulers and port service contractors working the cruise terminals at Port Canaveral, just south of us in Brevard County and about 60 minutes up I-95, bring ship loads here to be treated on our own site.
Ship work is not like a route. A single ship can mean hundreds of thousands of gallons, so every job comes with two requirements: a phone call before the offload is scheduled, and a manifest with every load. That call is what lets us plan for the volume, so your trucks are not left waiting when they arrive.
Quick Facts
- Accepts: Domestic waste offloaded from cruise ships
- Before the job: A phone call to (386) 304-1870, before the offload is scheduled

- Typical volume: Hundreds of thousands of gallons per ship
- Does not accept: Oily, industrial or hazardous waste
- Lanes: Three, running at the same time
- Billing: Per dump, by credit card or ACH
- From Port Canaveral: About 60 minutes north on I-95
What We Accept from a Ship
Our permits cover domestic waste, and a cruise ship produces a great deal of it. As a rule of thumb, waste from the parts of a ship where people live, eat and wash is domestic. Waste from the engine room is not.
- Accepted: domestic waste from a ship’s passenger and crew areas, with a manifest
- Not accepted: oily bilge water, fuel and lubricant residues, and anything industrial or hazardous
If you are not sure which side of that line a tank falls on, raise it on the call before the job, not at the gate.
Call Before Every Ship
A ship offload is not a load to turn up with unannounced. Cruise ship jobs typically run to hundreds of thousands of gallons, so call (386) 304-1870 as soon as the job is booked, before the offload is scheduled. If it is after hours or no one picks up, call (386) 451-5607.
Tell us the date, the volume you expect and how many trucks you plan to run. That gives us time to plan the receiving side around your schedule.
A Manifest with Every Load
Cruise ship loads require a manifest, and it travels with the truck. Make sure each driver has the paperwork before leaving the port.
With an RFID tag on each truck, every load also produces our own itemized ticket: date, time, truck, weight in and out, gallons and price, emailed to your company at 7:30 PM the same evening. Together, the manifest and our tickets give you a clean record of where every gallon went, for your own billing and for the ship’s agent.
Built to Take Volume
- Three lanes run at the same time, so a fleet of trucks does not queue behind itself
- 100,000 gallons of permitted storage on site
- RFID tags, one per truck, weigh each truck in and out with no paperwork at the scale
- Treated here, on our own 150-acre site under Florida DEP and Volusia County Health Department permits, with zero violations since 2000. Nothing is consolidated and shipped to a third party
Bringing in extra trucks for a ship job? Call ahead and have a tag made for each one. It takes about five minutes. When the job is done, vacuum and pump trucks can be cleaned on site by appointment.
