Permits, Oversight and a Record With No Violations on It
A DEP-Permitted Wastewater Facility With a Clean Record Since 2000
American Bioclean is licensed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Volusia County Health Department. We have operated under that oversight since 2000 and have never received a violation.
That record is the single most useful thing we can offer a customer, and it is worth explaining why.

Why a Facility’s Record Is Your Problem Too
When a disposal facility gets something wrong, the investigation does not stop at the facility gate. Regulators follow the material backwards — to the hauler who brought it, and to the generator it came from. Everyone in that chain gets looked at.
Choosing where to dump is therefore not only a question of price and drive time. It is a question of whose compliance history you are attaching your own operation to. Ours has nothing on it.
What We Are Permitted to Accept
Our permits cover domestic waste: septage from residential and commercial septic systems, portable toilet waste, grease trap waste and residual wastewater, plus biosolids with a signed facility agreement. Within that, a load either qualifies or it does not — and if it does, you leave with an empty truck.
What falls outside the permits is equally firm. Industrial and hazardous material cannot be accepted, whatever the volume and whoever is asking. A load that arrives carrying something it should not will be refused at the gate, which is a wasted trip for you and a compliance problem for us.
If you are ever unsure what is in a tank, call before you fill it rather than after. That one phone call is the cheapest compliance measure available to either of us.
The Paperwork That Proves It
Every load dumped on an RFID tag produces an itemized ticket — date, time, company, truck ID, weight loaded and empty, gallons and price — emailed to your company address at 7:30 PM the same evening.
That is a contemporaneous record of every disposal, created automatically. When an inspector asks what you disposed of, when and where, the answer is already in your inbox rather than in a folder somebody has to reconstruct.
How We Keep the Record Clean
There is nothing clever about it. We only take what we are permitted to take, we treat it on our own site rather than passing it to somebody whose practices we cannot see, and we document everything as it happens rather than afterwards.
The reason more facilities do not have a record like this is usually that one of those three is inconvenient at some point, and they let it slide. We have found that the inconvenience is much cheaper than the alternative.
Volusia County Schools has an annual contract with us for grease trap waste, septage and biosolids, and around 80 facilities hold signed biosolids agreements with us.
If You Need Help With Your Own Compliance
Working out which permits apply to your operation, what your manifests need to show, or how to prepare for an inspection is something we deal with daily. Our compliance consulting page covers what we can help with — and where we will tell you to speak to an attorney instead.
Not sure whether your load qualifies? Call (386) 304-1870 before you fill the tank. It takes a minute and saves a wasted trip.
