Restaurant Grease Trap Compliance, From Your Kitchen to Final Treatment
Restaurant Grease Trap Compliance with One Chain of Custody
Restaurant grease trap compliance does not end when the pumper leaves. Grease trap waste from kitchens across East Central Florida is collected by our sister company, North East Treatment, and brought here — to American Bioclean’s own DEP-permitted facility in New Smyrna Beach — for processing.
That makes it one of the shortest chains of custody available to a kitchen: two sister companies at one address, one family accountable from your trap to final treatment, and a compliance record with no violations since 2000.

Why the Destination Matters to a Kitchen
Many cities and counties in the region run fats, oils and grease programs, and a kitchen can be asked to show its pump-out records. Those records are only as good as the chain behind them. When waste is handed from a collector to a third-party facility you have never heard of, the trail leaves your hands — but the responsibility for where it ended up does not.
Here, the collector and the facility are sister companies at the same address. The waste goes from your trap to a permitted site owned by the same family, and nobody else touches it in between.
Used Cooking Oil Does Not Go to Waste
Used cooking oil collected by North East Treatment is processed into renewable fuel rather than disposed of. For a restaurant group or a hotel kitchen that reports on its environmental impact, that is a far better line than ‘it was taken away’.
For Multi-Site Operators
Restaurant groups with kitchens in several counties get one collector and one destination for every location North East Treatment serves — Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Orange and Putnam counties — which keeps the records consistent from site to site.

Common Questions
If North East Treatment services your trap, it comes here — to American Bioclean’s DEP-permitted facility at 495 S. SR 415 in New Smyrna Beach, a sister company at the same address. It is not handed to a third-party facility.
Because responsibility for the waste follows it. If a facility further down the chain has a problem, the kitchen that generated the waste can still be asked about it. A short chain to a facility with a clean record removes most of that exposure.
A record of every pump-out — the date, the volume and who serviced the trap — and where the waste was taken. Requirements vary by city and county, so check with your local program. If you are unsure, call us and we will point you in the right direction.
